Hi there! I’m Christina, a mom of three littles, a licensed mental health therapist, and a children’s book author! Thanks for checking out my site. Look around! I’m sure there’s something here for you! This post is about Raising Mama, a company that has fused cute and comfy pajamas for our littles with positive maternal mental health messaging!

Raising Mama – Pajamas for Littles that help with Maternal Mental Health

Becoming a mom is both the most amazing and the most challenging thing you’ll ever do. Hand in hand with special moments, gummy smiles, and the sweetest belly laughs, are a lot of self-sacrifice and a huge identity shift. I felt all of this when I became a mom, and that’s when I shifted my therapy practice from working with children to working with the perinatal (before and after birth) population. Maternal mental health is of primary importance for our children’s wellbeing, and unfortunately, that is often overlooked.

So I was thrilled when Mama Raising connected with me and gifted me some of their baby pajamas. This company is “a call to arms for all mothers feeling overlooked and undervalued by a system that should be lifting them up.” They do this through their pajamas collection that, while comfortably and stylishly clothe your baby, are a symbol to let you know “I see you, I hear you, and you’re part of something bigger.”

As I am both a mom and a therapist, I wanted to share my thoughts on why I love Raising Mama. Read on below!

Here is my mom and consumer feedback:

  • These PJs are ADORABLE.
  • The prints are so vibrant, energetic, and happy.
  • They work for both girls and boys.
  • The bamboo fabric is impressively soft!
  • They have the always-appreciated double zipper (makes diaper changes a breeze)!
  • When your child outgrow the onesie PJ, they offer two piece sets as well.
  • I love that I can get them with or without feet — now that my youngest is toddling around way too fast than is safe, I love having the footless ones so her sticky feet can get some traction on the flooring.

And here is my therapist feedback:

  • The messages incorporated into the artwork are frequent reminders to practice self-care when you might otherwise forget to breathe and take a minute. Our youngest wore the “Om Baby” and the “Magic Mushroom” on two legs of international travel recently — when I was overwhelmed and looked at her, I was prompted to breathe and ask for help if needed, like the PJs said to.
  • A dollar from every purchase of Raising Mama pajamas is donated to one of my favorite organizations — Postpartum Support International.
  • Raising Mama uses their platform to build community by connecting moms and offering resources filled with guidance and advice.
  • Megan Stander, the founder of Raising Mama, continues the supportive motherhood and maternal mental health conversations with her easy-listening podcast of the same name: Raising Mama Podcast.
