Hi there! I’m Christina, a mom of two littles, a licensed mental health therapist, and a soon-to-be children’s book author! Thanks for checking out my site. Look around! I’m sure there’s something here for you! This post is sponsored by Clarifion. Read on for my 5 tips to help you breathe easier as you begin to socialize indoors again.
With Spring’s arrival, change is in the air. Winter’s grey and bitter bite is melting away as spring’s new life blooms all around. Along with the switching of the seasons, there are other changes afoot.
More and more American cities are finding that pandemic numbers are decreasing. Regulations are shifting, shops are opening, and hugs are happening, people! We are blinking off the darkness of this past year and orienting ourselves towards the light.
Our family, like yours, experienced a very modified, and at times rigid, way of life since March 2020. Breaking out of that way of living is very exciting on the one hand, but can be very anxiety provoking on the other.
One thing we are really looking forward to soon is having friends over. To our house. Actually inside it! But, even with vaccinations and immunities, there are nerves leftover from the past year’s constant state of hyper-vigilance.
5 Ways to Decrease your Anxiety and Breathe Easier as You Begin to Socialize Indoors
1. Set clear boundaries
As you are beginning to socialize indoors again, it will be helpful to set boundaries in agreement with your guests.
Have a conversation about where your comfort zones are and what makes everyone feel good about the social hangout. For example, you could set a time-limit on the gathering as you ease back in to social situations.
Whatever makes you feel best and most comfortable while being able to visit with friends and loved ones is key.
2. Deep clean
Even as more and more folks are vaccinated, we still want to make sure we are doing our best to prevent the spread of viruses.
Everyone will feel most comfortable in a clean space. As much as deep cleaning is not very fun, it is for the best reason — having friends and family over!
3. Plug in your Clarifion Negative Ion Generator Air Purifier
When you begin having friends over, an air purifier provides extra peace of mind. The portable Clarifion Negative Ion Generator Air Purifier is as easy for you to plug in at your own house as it is to plug in at a friend’s house when you are socializing indoors!
It is filterless and requires zero-maintenance. Literally just plug it in and it begins eliminating pollutants, allergens, germs, smoke, bacteria, pet dander, and more. Immediately you can sense it is hard at work cleaning the air you’re breathing. I can actually feel that the air I am breathing is cleaner.
4. Repeat a mantra
Even when we are following all guidelines and doing everything right, we might still feel nervous. In these circumstances it helps to have a mantra to repeat.
When it comes to socializing indoors, I recommend this one (you can modify as suits you!):
“I deserve this time with my friends and family. I have taken precautions and I am safe.”
5. Reflect
You did it! You socialized indoors!
So, how did it go? What worked for you? What didn’t?
Each get together is a chance for you to reflect and figure out if there is anything you want to change so that you can feel even more comfortable the next time. Coming out of pandemic living is not easy, and it’s okay if you feel nervous about it.
I hope these few suggestions of what you can do to feel safe and breathe easier as you engage socially are helpful to you!
